Stanton High enjoys Harvest moon on artificial turf sports field

What a spectacular night it has been for Stanton High Students and staff as they enjoyed the Harvest Moon festivities last Sept. 14 on their artificial turf sports field. Read this excerpt of the news published by Annette Utz.

“Students and staff, family and friends, gathered to fete the official opening of the new artificial turf sports field, which was completed earlier this month. It was also an opportunity to showcase all the work the Stayton Booster Club and community volunteers put into preparing the field and cleaning up and repainting the track, concession stands, and stadium.”

It was a delightful event for everyone as the witnessed a fun-filled evening including performances by the SHS cheer team and Stayton Highlights dancers, ribbon cutting ceremony and various activities for all ages. They even had space for foodies such as burgers and hotdogs. Everyone really had a great time.

How is artificial turf sports field affecting the player’s game

When asked if artificial turf sports field is affecting the player’s game, this is the response of Coach Andy Campbell:

“As far as it feeling different, I think they enjoy having facilities on par with colleges and the ability to have the same beautiful field regardless of the weather.”

“We have a great group of players that put their nose to the grindstone to work hard, something fostered and praised by head coach Andy Campbell. As for the new SHS athletics developments, I think we are moving in the right direction because coaches are holding their athletes to higher standards and pushing for them to be successful in all their sports. I’m excited for the way Stayton High School is going.”
